Our Design Process, How We Work

We believe in providing a well defined process so that you have a clear understanding of what to expect once you place your order for custom website design and/or custom logo design work with Websites a la Carte.

Custom Website Design Process

The following steps are the normal progression for a custom website design from start to finish. Some items may vary slightly depending on your unique requirements or if you select additional a la Carte options. However, this should give you a very good idea of what you can expect.

1. Initial Contact - Contact us to discuss your requirements. There is no obligation, and we will be happy to help you understand what you can expect from us, as well as, what will be expected of you if we end up helping you with your custom website design.
2. Order Form – The order form will allow you to select the services that are best for you. We provide custom website design packages, as well as, a la carte options that you can select to tailor a solution that is just right for your business.
3. Questionnaire – There is a detailed questionnaire that you will be presented with prior to submitting your secure payment.
4. Secure Online Payment – We accept all major credit cards for payment. Orders greater than $1,000 can be split into two payments, a 50% advance payment and then 50% when the site is completed.
5. Requirements Review - Once we receive your questionnaire, we will evaluate your requirements and then contact you to review and confirm your preferences.
6. Domain Registration - If required, we will register the domain name for your website (if hosting will be provided by Websites a la Carte).
7. Website Content - You will provide all copy and images for your website unless we will be developing content for your website. We can provide royalty-free images based on the website package you have selected. Additional images can be purchased separately.
8. Design Concept – We provide a design concept for your review. You will provide feedback and we will make revisions to the design based on the plan you have selected.
9. Development – We convert the design to HTML and generate the site navigation, layout the pages and incorporate the images including resizing and cropping images provided.
10. Beta Release – The website will be uploaded to a development site for your review. You will provide a final list of changes, if any, prior to launch.
11. Final Payment – If any payment is outstanding, it will be required at this stage prior to launch.
12. Your website is launched on the live domain!
